I have a BMW 320D. The car is making a loud whistling sound when driving. It does not make noise when car is static just in motion. I think it might be a turbo problen but not losing power. Its very annoying. Any idea whats causing this or how to fix the problem?

Loud whistle is an indication of a vacuum leak. You could test it with a mechanics stethlescope to determine where the noise is coming from with a friend of course helping you out by having the vehicle in neutral and reving the car. Or you could perform a smoke test to determine where the leak is.

Most BMW E46's have a lower boot leak that is part of the cold air intake which cracks at the rear of the elbow boot, and causes a whistling noise, sometimes it could also be a fault of your idler control valve, or the cyclone valve. Its best to perform the tests above to ensure you narrow down the fault or have a professional mechanic look at it in person.

Best of luck.
