I have a 1991 BMW 318is, 145k, 5 sp. Trans; A few weeks ago it started to miss when accelerating, but would run smoother when pressing the gas gently; as soon as I'd floor it, it would bog down and run as if on 3 cylinders. I replaced the plugs, fuel filter, air filter, checked the fuel pump for psi pressure, it read OK; I just replaced the spark plug wires, and it ran almost normal, but after a few minutes, it started to sputter, and back fired a little. Any clues? Your help will be greatly appreciated. That's my only car, and can't afford to miss work. Thank you!

DOWN BY THE CRANKSHAFT, LOOKING AT THE CAR FROM THE FRONT BELOW THE GRILL BEAMERS ARE FAMOUS FOR "KNOCK SENSORS MOVING"
THEY HAVE TO BE PLACED JUST RIGHT
IVE ONLY DONE THIS 3X FOR THE PROBLEM OF THE CAR SPUTTERING RUNNING ROUGH OH AND SOMETIMES THIS KNOCK SENSOR MOVES THATS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM. I WORKED FOR A BMW DEALERSHIP FOR APPROX BETTER THAN A YEAR
