Hi I have a bmw 318i the heater gets warm for bout 10 seconds then it goes back cold and the temperture gauge keeps going up to half way and then goes back to were it started from could you tell me what is causing it to do that.

Low coolant level can cause this to happen. A stuck T-Stat could do it as well. Fill and pressure test the system and cap. Let us know ♥
