The belts are squealing really loud on my car. The thinner belt that goes around the air conditioner pulley is getting hot and there is spots of melted rubber on what looks like the tensioner pulley. I'm a woman though and don't know what I'm doing. Please help

Hello,

If the belt is old then it probably needs to be replaced. Newer belts will sometimes squeal as well, and the is a product you can purchase at any auto part store called belt dressing that you simply spray on the belt as the engine is running and will take the squeal away. In the diagrams down below I have included the Original Equipment Manufacturer[OEM] part numbers for your reference and the guide from the vehicle manufacturer on how to properly the serpentine belt on your vehicle. Please go through these guides and get back to us with how everything turns out or if you should have any other questions or concerns. I hope this helps and Happy Holidays.

Thanks,
Alex
