Battery light has been on for a day. Car stalled today got a jump and brought it home then I cranked it and it didn't start. This battery is only 8 months old. Also, before it stalled I found out I didn't have any water in it. Do you think running it with no water it could cause the light to come on and not start?

HI,

Coolant can definitely cause major problems, but I don't think it is related to the battery light. That sounds like a problem with an alternator. What I suggest is simply to make sure the battery is fully charged and then test the alternator. It is very simple to do at home and only requires a volt or multi meter. Here is a link that explains how it is done:

Do this first and let me know the results.

Take care,
Joe
