The battery started to die (overnight) The first time it happened I had a jump start and it ran for almost a week with no issues. After the first jump and it running for almost a week. It then turned into every few days. To every morning I needed to have my battery jumped. The main malfunction ( that is on the dash constantly ) is brake - service brake visit workshop. The second indicator light says ESP not available see owners manual. That light only comes on when the battery is jumped but goes off. The third indicator light that comes on is a picture of a battery and says Malfunction Electrical consumers switched off. This light also comes on when the battery is jumped but also goes off. As of right now my car is just sitting in my driveway and I currently have a loner vehicle. In the area I live in it seems no one has any dealings with Mercedes. I took it to a shop that pulled it in their garage for 15 minutes or less. They turned my car off and back on a few minutes later then pulled it out of the shop. Secretary told me the mechanic thinks it's a bad module. But did not know which one. She just informed me that the fix will be expensive. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my car or had the same issue? Any information will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The brake light indicator means your sensor is touching the rotor and need brakes or you have a bad brake sensor. Have the brakes checked out.

Your parasitic draw I would recommend you take it to your nearest dealership to have it diagnose properly. There is a bulletin for a software update that may correct this issue which would be much cheaper then a module replacement. Here is the bulletin and let us know if that was the issue. You may also want to have the battery tested as well to see if it is not bad already.

Complaint:
Customer experiences low battery conditions, resulting in jump starts, and eventually requiring battery replacement.

Cause:
PASS (mbrace) is programmed to update its Preferred Roaming List (PRL) every 90 days. If the unit is deactivated, the update is not possible.

If a Diagnostic Service (ex: Quicktest) is performed on a vehicle with a deactivated PASS unit, the PASS unit will start attempting to update, even though no network is detected. PASS will keep the CAN Bus awake, and in time will drain the battery.

Preconditions:

1. Must be equipped with PASS

2. IMX software level in mbrace will be 2319028401 (see attachment)

3. Vehicle must be at least 90 days old

4. Mbrace must be deactivated in any of the following scenarios:

Customer did not purchase mbrace at point of sale

Cancel of mbrace subscription at any time

    Free trial expires

5.A Diagnostic Service (ex: Quicktest) is performed on a vehicle with a PASS unit with the above preconditions met.

Remedy:
Update the mbrace control unit software. The IMX software in the mbrace control unit should change to either

2319023902

or

2319027002

If Xentry does not specify newer software, please create an SDS User Help Desk case via PTSS, and include the following:

-Â Event log (initial startup)

-Â mbrace control unit log

-Â Initial quick test

Once completed, the event code "B15CE00 Registration with TOC has failed" may be visible. Please disregard this event code.

I did take it to AutoZone last week to have the battery and alternator tested. The employee there said my battery and alternator was working good. That was after I had a jump start and my car at that point had already been running for over an hour when they tested it.

As JIS001 mentioned you have a parasitic draw that is causing the battery to drain. That means that something is not turning off when you shut the car off. Due to this it is drawing too much amperage from the battery and that is causing the battery to drain.

The battery and alternator tested good because they can be good but are not in use when the vehicle is turned off hence the battery drains when the vehicle is off.

Unfortunately, the shop that looked at it could have diagnosed it but it requires a parasitic draw test.

Here is a guide that walks through the basics. Then a video off the internet of someone performing the test with a meter.
