Hi, i just bought a audi a6 Q 3.0 and check engine light has come on after a ride i went to autozone and they told me that the torque convertor is either stuck or off. when i brought it to the dealership i bought it from they told me it was a catlic convertor witch is not what it is.. i have a few things to ask.. one is it going to ruin the car by driving it wiht the light on and two should i not truste the dealership seeing they did not tell me the correct problem. and would all this cost alot of money to fix

Hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated I would tend to believe a qualified technician from your dealer regarding the fault stored on the computer before listening to an unqualified salesman from autozone who may have got the fault code description wrong ... It also would be a lot less costly for you to replace the catalytic convertor than to remove the transmission and replace the torque convertor, so the dealer would be losing money if they were wrong ? ... could you please supply the full fault code letter and number that was retrieved from your cars computer ?? Let me know

Autozone will be able to supply the code to you for free .. it should read P1234/P0123 etc. .. these numbers are examples of what the code should look like .. supply me the code's .. and i will give you a defintion of what the code actually means and the repair needed !! Hope this helps. let me know
