Transmission problem
2004 Audi A4 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 39,900 miles

I am having trouble starting my car, last night it was working fine like always. Then this afternoon I tried to drive it again and it wouldnt start, kept trying but wouldnt do it. Finally after a few tries and holding ignition down for a while it started. I figured it must have been battery trouble so I just drove it around for a bit to charge battery. However I parked at practice and 3 hours later when I tried again same thing happened and it didn't start right away. I'm still able to get it started but it is struggling. Do you think I need a new battery or could something else be wrong with it?

Is your car cranking slow?Chances are not the battery if 9 times out of 10 its ok might be getting weak, is the check engine light on if so whats the code some places check for free. If no check engine light how does it run normally otherwise need more info for sporatic problem. Sounds like the crank sensor if it runs fine then shut off and no restart check engine light on.
