Hi, the vehicle listed above se model. It's my coworkers. She said her car was having trouble starting. I tested her battery. It was at 13.4 volts, so I told her to first get a battery. Her car shut off after getting a battery. I'm pretty sure it's her alternator and I'll get tested at AutoZone. Can you please tell me with detailed pictures and steps on how to remove the serpentine belt and remove and install an alternator? Thank you, guys, so much.

Hi,

When you tested the battery, was the engine running when you found 13.4 volts? If that is the case, the alternator is working.

Do me a favor, before we start replacing things, I need to have you check the alternator output and see if it is producing. I'm not sure what battery voltage was that prompted it to be replaced. It can't produce 13.4v unless it's running.

Take a look through this link and let me know what you find:

Also, let me know what was happening when she indicated it was hard to start. For example, did it crank excessively prior to starting? Or did the starter not turn the engine fast enough?

Let me know,

Take care,

Joe
