Hello !
I am about to buy my first truck but im not sure where to begin.

There is so much out there and so many rumors about one type or another its getting to be overwhelming.

I am looking for a good 4x4 truck either new or used.
The important part to me is the overall quality of the truck. A good reliable powerful engine and a strong body.

Im leaning towards chevy but I notice fords are also quite popular around here.

I was also looking at a 1995 dodge laramie 2500 gas/propane. For 7,000 Canadian, is this good?

I dont know if this is the right place to ask, but I dont know where else to go.

I dont want to invest in a truck to find out down the road I baught a second rate ride.

My main question is.

Which 4x4 truck in the last 10-15 years is considered the best overall for strength, reliability and power?

and Should I go diesil or gas?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you !

If you're looking for a reliable, tough 4x4 truck I would recommend a toyota. I have an 88 4-runner with 200,000mi on it and you can drive the hell out of it.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but if anyone's looking for a good truck, Toyotas are your best bet. Followed maybe by Isuzu because they have the best diesel engines.
