First off let me say my engine light comes on and off constantly too. I guess that makes us all part of the same club. But the one of the main things I am having problems with is that my belts seem to be eating themselves up on the pulley. And second my engine has had a knocking that started off small and my mechanic said that I might be my timing belt, but I have notice since it has gotten louder that my car has been running sluggish as of late. When it is parked or neutral the idle shoots up quickly, and it shakes terribly while you are driving since this has happened. Do you guys have any ideal what I can do for this?

I would be very suspicious of the alternater seizing when hot. Have experienced this at our shop. HAve heard of water pump seizing when hot, but have not experienced that personallly.
