I have decided to switch out my factory radio in my van for a Pioneer radio. It turns on without any issue and functions properly except for the fact that no sound comes out. I have tried switching back to the factory radio to see what is going on and that radio turns on just fine. Afterwards I disconnected it and reconnected the Pioneer and it made sound until I turned off the ignition and turned it back on. It stopped making noise and I am pretty sure I have the wiring correctly. What do I do?

If you had a CD/cassette combo radio, that is one of the highest quality car radios ever made, but there are two versions. If you have the Infinity system, that uses a remote amplifier or remote-mounted amps on some of the speakers. Unlike with GM and Ford radios, all Chrysler radios can be used with or without the amp, but if you leave one in the system, you need to supply the turn-on signal for it. On the older vehicles that was done with the switched twelve volt circuit that also ran a power antenna. By 2003, all models did the switching with a digital signal. If that is what your van uses, you will need to bypass the amplifier.
