If you are running a 5cylinder TL then the oil filter is half way up on the motor, if you were to go under it.

If you are running a 6cylinder TL then the oil filter is located way under the car instead of half way up like the 5cylinder.

The oil filter is quite big. So you will not have a problem locating it, also do not buy a oil wrench because you will not need it; your hands can easily access and remove the oil filter.
( but if you like to buy it and use it for other cars in the future then go ahead and buy it to save yourself the trouble in the near future )

lastly the drain plug is located under the car. About 2 1/2 feet behind the front bumper. Its a box shape pan thats about 8'' x 12 ( just an example )

MOTOR OIL DRAIN PLUGS most of them are pointed south or to the ground which ever is easier for you to remeber. ( Vertically )

if you are not sure if it is in fact the MOTOR OIL DRAIN PLUG I would advise you just to loosen the drain plug to allow a few droplets of motor oil to fall to confirm that you have in fact found the oil pan.

If you would like pictures of the oil pan and drain plug or the oil filter location for your car let me know I can email them to you if you are still having trouble locating them.

Hope This Helps You* Good Luck*-

p.S. Please leave feedback and let me know if the above info helped you.

If you located a different drain plug and after loosening it. If it shows RED FLUID you have actually found the transmission fluid drain plug instead of the motor oil. THIS DRAIN PLUG IS INSTALLED HORIZONALLY so remeber to look for a vertically placed drain plug not vice versa.
