On my MDX when I push the brake I get a clicking noise coming from the gear shifter. It is one click when depressing brake, and one click releasing the brake. Dealer says its normal, but I dont think so and wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Hi bachman28,

When gear shift is in Park position, that is normal.

The interlock solenoid is being activated when the brake is depressed.

Well it started at about 90,000 miles, and it clicks in every gear except 1, 2, and 3.

It should not happen that way. There must be some wiring fault with the Park Neutral Position switch or interlock wiring/system.

The interlock control unit is not being informed that the gear shift is already out of park.
