There is a low to medium humming/vibrating sound that comes from engine or transmission area. There is no clanking sound that accompanies this humm. It's just the humm that starts when in fourth gear. It will last as long as I go roughly 40 miles per hour and then it will disappear if I accelerate past 40 mph. The humm is not present until the car get to 4th gear. This humm is also very intermittent. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes you have to reach the 40 mile per hr mark just right for it to even do the sound. I just rebuilt the transmission and its still doing it. It started doing it after I had the belts and hoses changed and had an alignment done. Have no idea how to get rid of it.

Any chance it is a tire noise? Wil it only do it in 4th? Or if you go 5th will it keep making the noise? Try a tire rotation, if there is a bad wear pattern it may transfer the noise to the rear of the car. Can you feel any vibrations when it makes the noise? Like in the car itself, not the steering wheel

There is slight vibration in the pedal. It seems to only happen when the car reaches that 40 mph and it doesn't do it all of the time. For example, if I reach the 40 mph quickly, you wont hear anything. But if I drive slowly up that 40 mph mark, it will make the sound. And this sound isn't made all of the time. Once I go a little faster like 45 -50 mph, the sound will go away. The car just had the tires rotated and alignment done. I also changed all of the hoses and belts including timing belt. The sound started once I got all this work done. Its not the transmission because I just had it pulled out and checked. The sound comes from the lower center of the car near the back of the engine. Ill try another tire rotation but I don't think that is it. It only sometimes happens at the 40 mph mark. Steering wheel doesn't vibrate. More from the engine than transmission.

Check the mounts. Sounds like one is making contact. Sounds liekit is coming from the exhaust pipe area? Tap on it (Exhaust pipe) with a soft hammer and see if it rattles
