1991 Acura Integra Ignition and starter

Electrical problem
1991 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 179000 miles

I replaced my starter on my 1991 integra so the car started alright. A couple days after it won't star. I'm thinking it's tha ignition wires and switch because a couple months before my car wouldn't start and so as we turn tha key smoke came out from the dash. When I turn the key the lights still turn on, it just feel like it's not connecting to the starter. Can you help me, if posible with diagrams too?

Hi rojohncagang,

Sorry I could not find any diagrams to show you. Begore removal, it would be better to test the switch as the starting part of the switch seldom fails.

Removal & Installation (Integra)

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove steering wheel.
Remove upper and lower steering column covers.
Remove lower dashboard panel and left knee bolster.
Disconnect ignition switch 7-pin connector from main wiring harness.
Turn ignition key to "O" position.
Remove 2 screws and ignition switch.
To install, reverse removal procedure.

From the diagram, use a test lamp to test for power supply from ignition switch ( Black/White wire) to starter relay.
