Bought car recently. The a/c was very cold the last couple of days not as cold, cool at best. Took it to jiffy Lube the charged it with freon as they said it was a bit low.

Now the car blows warm air when stopped and blows cool air when driven (not really cold though). Jiffy lube saw that and said the condensor may be on the way out, but I'm not sure I trust their judgement I'm hoping it is something else that won't be as expensive. Haven't checked any fuses not sure where they are and don't have a manual.

Any idea as to what the issue may be?

Would really appreciate the help.

George.

Something like that you would need to install some gauges to see what the low and high pressure readings are. If both low and high pressure is very high, verify that the fans are operating properly. If both fans do not come on it will cause pressures to go high and not cool. If low pressure is high and high pressure is too low then compressor is failing. Depending on the temp and humidity normal gauge readings will be around 30-45 psi on the low side and 175-225 high side. If high side is high and low side to low you could have a plugged orifice tube. If a lot of metal is on there then the compressor is failing and you would need to replace the compressor, drier, orifice and condenser since sometimes flushing you can not get everything out.
