I am having an issue with power steering shortly after jumping the battery. I did a little online research and most articles refer to a blown 80 AMP mega fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. So I remove the cover and my vehicle does not have a mega fuse. The spot is there, but no fuse. Were there two different fuse block, used on the 2008 Equinox sport? Also, any idea what the power steering issue could be? It has fluid and a good belt.

No your car does not use a mega fuse. If you have a power steering pump you have hydraulic power steering not electric assisted. If the fluid is full and no leaks have a mechanic look at it you may have air in system causing the problem which you did not explain what it is.
