Does engine need to re-timed if I remove the head

If I take the head off would I need to re time the car because it is not an OHC.

Good evening,

Since it is not an overhead cam, it has a timing chain that connects the cam to the crank.

You will not need to retime the motor at all.

Okay thanks. And one more question. If I take the heads off and I need to take the rocker arms off I would need to retime because I’m not an expert on this stuff and I’m not sure how to re time the engine. I know how to do the lifters I just don’t know how to re time.

No, you need to remove the rockers as part of the job.

Then you install them back. No timing required. They just tighten down and no adjustment needed.
