Subaru Forester Mechanic Problem
Squeaking belt, live 3 hours from dealership, just wondering if any mechanic could fix it

That's what they do. Dealership mechanics specialize in one brand of car. Independent mechanics work on all brands. Could be as simple as a worn belt, or a stuck spring-loaded tensioner; even a tipped pulley due to a worn bearing.
