2008 GMC Sierra Repair Question

GMC Sierra Problem
My motor blew up and i found a new/used one i was just wondering if the ly5 motor that i found will work for the lc9 that was in it the only differance that i see is the ly5 is cast iron and the lc9 is aluminum cast

what size motor??? donor from what year????

2008 5.3 lc9 motor in it right now want to replace it with the 2008 5.3 ly5 motor
