2008 GMC Sierra Using synthetic oil

Hi I have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500 5.3L, I live in el centro ca, the weather here is really hot like it gets to 115 degrees out here, and I was wondering is it ok to use 10-30w synthetic engine oil, can this type of weather affect the oil I want to use. Thank you for your time

Hello,
10w-30 will be fine.
Synthetic oil would be also okay to use, just make sure that you stick with the synthetic oil and not go back and forth between conventional oil. Colder weather is really what effects oil more so then hot weather because of the viscosity. Hope this helps!
