2008 Cadillac CTS Car chockes when accelerated

The car makes a loud noise when accelerating, like if I had cans tide up and pulling them, it chockes and feels like it loosing powers and isn't receiving Enough gas or maybe air.
I've looked it up and it seemed like it might be the engine coil, at least that what people around the Internet said, I just wanted to make sure and get a opinion of an expert, so I can know which parts to actually buy

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent the gauge do that first.

A mechanic told me the problem is the engine lifters,
Any tips on how to change that my self and or how much will it cost to repair

It's 7 hours labor whatever the labor rate is by you and about $16 per lifter and you have 32 if you arenot really mechanically inclined I would advise having this professionally done.
