How to repair the vent selector switch? The cable slipped off/out while turning the switch to defrost.

Hello,

You will have to remove the facia and the control head to check. Here are diagrams below to help you see whats going on. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
