Oil Light comes on after a few minutes of driving. Starts by flashing for a while and then remains on or just comes on. Oil level normal and clean. Has happened before after heavy emergency braking but was only temporary.

Hello,

Typically the oil light will indicate low oil pressure.
It can actually have low oil pressure or you could have a faulty oil pressure sensor, which is sending incorrect information to the ECM.

First you need to check the oil pressure to make sure it is at correct level. Use a oil pressure test gauge to check the pressure. To do that you will have to remove the oil pressure sensor and plug in the pressure tester.

If the oil pressure is within specification then you will just need to replace the pressure sensor.
If the pressure is low the you will have to check the oil pump. It could be a bad pump or could have the oil pickup tube clogged or loose.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
