Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me what could be wrong with my car. It passed the national car test without any problems two weeks ago and has been running fine. But today the gears stopped working one by one and then the car wouldn't start. This all happened within 15 minutes. I probably should mention its not an automatic car as most cars here are manual.

Manual gears don't stop working one by one. You need to perform tests to find out why it can't start. the information you have provided is insufficient for us to understand what could be wrong.
