2007 Chevrolet Impala Repair Question

My check engine light came on and the code reading is po455.
It started out with a bad gas cap. went to auto zone and they sold me the wrong cap that wasnt pressurized. I drove for 3 weeks like that. put the right cap on and my code hasnt reset and now it states tha its gross evaporitive system leak.

most likely the gas cap was not the issue. you need a shop with a scan tool, smoke machine and voltmeter to determine the failure and tell you the exact failure.
