2006 Hummer H3 Repair Question

My engine light should come on with the gas cap off
I noticed I forgot to put my gas cap back on when I got home from work about 9 miles. This truck if the gas caps off the engine lights should come on right away so why would it not come on?

it has to fail the evap test 3 times. the test only runs after an 8 hour cold soak. it would take a day or to to be turned on.

O okay thanks and I don't know if I can ask one more thing what's an air solenoid relay for and if I have a fuse that says air sol why is there no relay for it

you may not have the air pump. may be just a california option.
