2006 Holden Commodore timing chain

Light on dash came on went to Holden to get computer done and still light is on they said timing chain can you give me what you think that might be worth so I can find appropriate mechanic that doesn't over charge on the job and can you tell me what I should get as things like pulleys and belts thanks Paul

These engine are just rubbish, starched timing chains are a known problem and very expensive to fix, we do a lot in our work shop full chain kits will cost about $500.00 up to $700 for high end quality and there is about 15 Hrs work to do it retail the work is about $2100.00 to do. Repco and Bursons sell the kits, but I only uses kits from my engine rebuilder they cost a bit more but are better quality, check yellow pages for engine reconditioners in your town and ask them.
