Car shudders and/or stalls intermitantly on stopping
Car shudders and/or stalls intermitantly on stopping. Have replaced fuel filter, air filter, brakes good, Rotors resurfaced, cleaned IAF and MAF sensors, checked fluids and replaced Torque converter thinking it was related to TSB 07-5-6. If shifted into Neutral upon studder, studder stops. No diagnostic codes. Only does it on stopping completely. No other engine misfires, idles fine, regular driving is fine. We're stumped. Any advise on next steps?

Any transmission codes? It seems to be acting like a bad tcc solenoid.

Also are the brake lights working?

No diagnostic codes come up. Brakes and Lights seem fine.

It seems maybe you put a defective torque converter in it, when you removed the transmission, did the converter spin freely? A bad one will be hard to turn...Flush out the lines and cooler? Check with Ford to see if a new PCM update might be available?

Ford diagnosed as bad valve control body as car intermitantly gets stuck in 3rd gear when coming to a stop. Replaced. Did not correct the shudder/stalling. They are stumped. Now they are removing the transmission to rebuid or replace. Pretty soon I'll have a brand new car part by part! (laugh)
