Hi, my car recently started idling at 1100 rpms so I cleaned the throttle body and made sure not to touch the electrical sensors. Now my car fluctuates between 1000-2000 rmp in neutral. When I'm on the highway the rpms jump up to 3000 rpm when I'm hitting the clutch. I was told it could be the neutral safety switch. Where is that located?

Check for a vacuum leak first and make sure you cleaned both sides of throttle plate and iac hole. Neutral switch is on transmission near the shift cable. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Park neutral position (PNP) switch is located on the left side of the engine compartment, on top of the transmission.

My key locks when I have the car in park. I was told my neutral safety switch went out. I have to push a release button in the steering column to get me key out. The switch is $82.00 and I can't afford to take it in so I was curious how to replace it. I'm not even %100 sure where it is. I've been told two different locations.

The NSS switch is a safety feature to prevent the engine from starting in any gears other than P/N-Sounds like you got a problem within the shift interlock control system or the ignition switch cylinder lock-
