After replacing my battery with appropriate.

After replacing my battery with appropriate replacement, the warning lamps came on: xDrive and DSC have failed. Nothing shorted- is there a way to reset? Or could something else cause this. No prior issues with either before.

Yes. The issue could well be just a reset of the faults due to the recent voltage excursion or it could indicate the need to update the cars software, either way you are probably going to need to visit your BMW service provider straightaway. Probably have that new battery registered too.
