Explorer started squeeling
then loss of power steering, low oil pressure light, and then the high engine temp light came on.

then obviously the service engine soon light popped up.

Wow, a couple of issues. Low oil pressure light. Have oil pressure manually checked to verify or you may have internal issues causing this.
High temp light. Check the coolant and add as necessary. If it is ok, then a diag is needed to determine why it is running hot. Could be thermostat, rad clogged or a leak.
Power steering. Make sure the belt is ok. If it is, check the fluid and look for leaks if it is out of fluid. If it is ok, then you may have a failed rack or pump.
I agree, the check engine light may be from these other issues. Have a free code pull done and get back to us with that so we can assist you.

Opened up the hood. Wow. It looks like a "belt" war zone. There is a belt shredded and wrapped around the fan. As well as a number of other parts. Could the serpentine belt explain all of these issues?

Not all but most. You also need to find out why the belt broke. It may be a tension er or something that locked up.

My concern the pow oil pressure light. Start with the belt repair and see.
