For the ignition door etc?Also if its the ignition which position is the cylinder stuck in?

Ignition! It was in the off position. We managed to get it almost out with the exception of the cable in the back. We talked to a mechanic and he said we had to have the ignition switch in any position other than off to remove it. We broke the cylinder without breaking the switchs and replaced the cylinder and everything works now. Dealer was trying to tell us that it had to be programmed after being replaced? So far so good. Cylinder was 70.00 and dealer estimated 450.00!
