Nissan Primera Engine Problem

Hi. When do I need to change my timing belt? I'm getting a squeeking sound in the last few days when I start the engine, or maybe that's the cold mornings. There are 77000 miles on the clock. I had the car serviced 6000 miles ago. Many thanks. Brian

I believe the timing belt should be replaced at 100K. Also, it wouldn't make noise like described. Check the drive belts on the front of the engine. Try this. Take a small cup of water, start the engine, open the hood, and slowly pour a small amount of water on the belt. See if the sound stops or changes. I really think that is where the noise is coming from. Make sure to protect your eyes and clothing. Water may spray back out of the engine compartment.
