Nissan Primera - New Turbo

I have just had a new turbo fitted to my 2.2 DCI Primera. For some reason, the new turbo is not activating until 2500 revs; the previous turbo worked at a lower range than this. Any ideas?

Is the replacement unit of the same specification as original?
Are there any leakages between turbo and intake manifold?
Is performance of engine before turbo cuts in similar to before replacement? A drop in engine performance would affect the time taken for you to note the boost.

Hi,

Thanks for that, the spec is the same.

The engine performance is pretty bang on what it was before, just the delay in where the turbo comes in. It used to kick in about the 1500 mark but now it's about 2500.

So it could be a leak between the intake and manifold... I will take it back to the mechanic armed with this 'sounds like i know what im talking about' knowledge...

Thanks
