2004 Ford E-Series Van A/C problem

Air conditioner works great until it started pulling more rpms. After the rpms go up the a/c kicks off till the rpms drop back down. Everytime I go up hill this happens what would cause this to happen.

It sounds like you are low on Freon and the low pressure switch is turning it off , probably have a small leak.

There is a shut down feature integrated into the vehicle's computer to shut off the a/c compressor when more power is needed such as climbing a hill. The a/c compressor is an added load to the engine and so when the engine needs more power (requested from the driver) the vehicle's computer temporarily shuts down the compressor until the demand has ended.
