2004 Buick Ranier Repair Question

Why would my 2004 Buick Rainier make a roaring noise periodically when the steering wheel is moved, if the power steering reservoir has adequate fluid?

I hear the sound sometimes when I turn my steering wheel. Not everytime. I had the reservoir checked by an NTB tech, but the sound would not happen when the tech drove the car.

The pump may be "cavitating" and causing air bubbles - and the air may be trapped in the lines. Ask your mechanic to bleed the air out of the lines...sometimes a hand-held vacuum pump is necessary.
