2004 BMW 325i Repair Question

BMW 325i Engine Problem
If i step on the gas to hard the engine shuts down and all the lights on the dash board turn on i have to pull over and turn off the car and then turn it on so it can take off again thats the only way it can off again. I dont know what the problem is they told that some cars do that but i think that its not right sometimes im going about 20-30 miles per hour and it shuts down.

The information needed is going to come from a proprietary scan tool, otherwise we could go through a very long list, and we could cut to the chase with the aforementioned scan.
