IF V60 GETS OVERHEATED BECAUSE RADIATOR HOSE CAME OFF (SEVERAL TIMES) IS THE PROBLEM A BAD GASKET CONNECTING HOSE TO RADIATOR OR COULD THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE BLOWING THE HOSE OFF

2003 Volvo S60 • 130,000 miles

The hose which goes directly into radiator keeps coming off, I don't know if the "clamp" is stripped (which no one seems to ever hear happening) or if there is a problem with engine itself that it builds up pressure and blows the hose off

Worn-screw style clamps often strip but you should notice that when you're tightening it. Just replace it to be safe.

All radiator caps have a pressure relief valve to maintain about 15 pounds of pressure on the system. If excessive pressure builds up in the system, it's more common for a seam to split on the radiator.
