2003 Volvo S60 Repair Question

Topics covered: Radiator, Engine.
Mileage: 130,000 miles.

Asked on March 1, 2012

If Volvo V60 gets overheated because radiator hose came off (several times) Is the problem a bad gasket connecting hose to radiator or could there be a problem with the engine blowing the hose off

The hose which goes directly into radiator keeps coming off, I don't know if the "clamp" is stripped (which no one seems to ever hear happening) or if there is a problem with engine itself that it builds up pressure and blows the hose off

Worn-screw style clamps often strip but you should notice that when you're tightening it. Just replace it to be safe.

All radiator caps have a pressure relief valve to maintain about 15 pounds of pressure on the system. If excessive pressure builds up in the system, it's more common for a seam to split on the radiator.
