check engine light

my "check Engine" light came on for about 100 miles and now its gone no light like nothing ever happened? why did it do this and how do i fix it?

The first item to address is to scan for the fault that had the light come on in the first place.

Have codes checked at most autoparts stores. Some codes will appear and disappear, these are soft codes, may be caused by bad fuel or a gas cap that is loose.
