Nissan Pathfinder Brakes Problem

I have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and believe I am having a brake problem. The brakes seem to work fine under normal driving conditions. But I am applying the brakes in the smow and if the car slides a bit while applying the brake I get low grinding sound and the brake feels hard as the brake goes down. Could this be bad rotors.

This is exactly what it's doing but making a growling sound. Is this normal? Should I be concern?

Thank you for your time!
