I was driving to work this morning, just cruising along at about 45 and suddenly my automatic 03 3.5 SE stalled or something. The power steering went out, the brake pedal went stiff and all of the dash lights came on. I pulled over, put it in park and re started the car without any problems. After that, nothing happened the rest of the way. The check engine light ISN'T on and everything seems to be running fine. I've never had this happen and it was really odd. Hopefully it won't happen again, but I wouldn't be surprised. Any ideas what might have caused this. Thanks!

Scan the computer for "soft" codes. These are intermittent problems or those that the programming doesn't cause the Check Engine Light to turn on.

The brakes got stiff because because the engine died. Many things can cause it. It could be bad gas, electrical issue, or fuel pump related.

Even if the CEL isn't on, there could be codes stored in the computer to let you know what happened.
