Engine noise from driver side

Noise starts as kind of a chirpping when idle then turns to chugging while driving no check engine light

is this while in car or with hood open? have you tried to locate with ear assisteed by tube or an auto stehescope. you can get stethescope for cheap at harbor freight.

I can hear it with my window down and the hood closed

can you investigate location of sound on your own? could be a pulley/belt noise or even an exhaust noise. you didn't mention what motor/trans you have.

No it still drives fine and as the engine heats up the noise gets quieter. And its hard to hear the noise when its not driving

You would need someone to have a lok at the vehicle. It is not possible to diagnose noise problems over the net unles you can be specific and is sure where it is coming from.
