After driving in hot weather for 3 hrs my 03 Hyundai Elantra started balking. I would accelerate, it would pause and then accelerate again, then pause, etc. I just had a LOF done & the mechanic said it was in great shape. Could this be bad gas? The heat? Any help appreciated.

Bad gas: Maybe. More likely a fuel pump not supplying enough pressure. Go to a parts store such as Autozone or O'Reilly and borrow/rent a fuel system pressure tester. You should have a minimum of 35 to 40 PSI at all times. You could also have a plugged fuel filter.
