We are trying to replace the ignition lock on the car. The illustration on your website indicates that the key must be in position 2 for the gear shift cable to come out. The key will not go to position 2 because the ignition lock is broken. How do we get the gear shift cable out of the ignition lock when we can't move the key? Thanks in advance for your help.

Get a hammer and tap at the bottom of the column lock while turning the key. This should let the key turn to position 2 and even be able to start it up to move the vehicle if you need too. If that does not work then you will also need to replace the cable.

How do you replace the gear lock cable. How much does one of those cost?

Thanks for your help.

Did you try the hammer trick? Send me a personal email with your contact info and I will call you and try to guide you. If you need to replace the cable I will fax you the instructions.
