My car started idling rough all of a sudden one day. It stalled waiting to turn at an intersection. It started right back up, but barely accelerated out of the intersection. I parked the car, and now it will not start. It will turn over, but not fire. I hear the fuel pump kick on. I tested for spark, and I get it from all plugs. I can also smell fuel after taking the plugs out to replace them. My SES light is on. I pulled code U1301 Class 2 short to battery. That is the only code.

Last time I answered your question you asked you never replied to me.I will have to look into this code all my years with saturn I have never come across that code. Have you tried holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor while trying to start it? It sounds flooded its really common for the coolant temp sensors to go bad on those cars and cause flooding no starts runs too rich surging all kinds of different symptoms. They even leak coolant into the coolant temp sensor connector corroding the terminals of the connectors.

The code is for class 2 data line shorted to power its the line used to talk to the scan tool body control module air bag computer. It shouldn't cause the running issues. If you clear the code does the code come back?
