Mazda Protege Fuse Problem

Blew main fuse betwen battery and fuse box. How do I replace it? Also, car will start and run with a bypass but radio, interior lights (and probably brake lights) do not work. Fuses in kick panel are ok.

i am concerned as to why it blew. if you dont find the reason, then it will happen again

the fuse is bolted in on the sides. remove the top and bottom cover of the fuse box to gain acess to the screws.

did you hook up the battery wrong??? if not, suspect the alternator or wiring

Set battery in box wrong way and managed to let the cables touch thus blowing the fuse. I put in a by pass for now so the car can be run. Everything works but the radio and interior lights (they worked before).
Do I have to unbolt the fusebox from thr inner fender to access the screws?
Also, why are no repair manuals available for this model? I've checked all the publishers to no avail.
