2002 Ford Windstar had PCM and Idle Air Intake Valve replaced. When start rpms @ 1500 and increase to 2000 before dropping to 1000. Has periods where it will stay at 1200 when not touching gas. Have to fight it accelerating when trying to stop or turn. I can drive 25 mile an hour without touching the gas and that is on an upward grade.

There are a number of things that can cause this but the most likely cause of this is a vacuum leak, so I would suggest we start with this guide and that will get us started on if this is the issue:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

However, if we don't have a vacuum leak then we need to run through this guide on high idle and start crossing these things off the list.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-idles-too-high

Lastly, we need to check for codes and find out if we have any issues with some sensors.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Once we run through all this info, I am sure we will either find the issue or get on the right path.

Please let me know what questions you have, and we can go from there.

Thanks
