2001 Volkswagen Jetta Repair Question

Volkswagen Jetta Engine Problem
Vehicle ran fine then after sitting for a few hours would not start. Changed battery with a new one but engine turns over but still won't start. Will start and run on starting fluid.

Tap on the bottom of the gas tank while someone cranks the engine with the key... probably a bad fuel pump.
